Is it “anti-spyware” or “anti-competitionware”
Many big names in the industry have rushed their own “antispyware” products to market, we think not primarily in order to protect the consumer, but primarily in order to protect their own spyware from detection and deletion. Yes, those corporate boardrooms see this as a win/win situation. They can give away “antispyware” that eliminates all the competitions spyware and protects their own. And hey, they can give the consumer the impression that they are Model Internet Corporate Citizens. Isn’t it great when you can give away software and make more money at the same time!
Well, that is why we strongly advise using a suite of independent antispyware and anti-adware and anti-malware products. Some good examples would include Spybot, Ad-Aware, Webroot Spysweeper, Pest Patrol, Spyware Blaster, Sunbelt CounterSpy, and the like. Combine this with one good anti-virus product, and you have better all around protection, because these products are more likely to find spyware from all sources.
