How to Answer Security Questions
The problem with the commonly used web site “Security Questions” is just that, they are commonly used and anyone who knows you, or does a little research about you, might be able to guess the answer.
For instance: “What is your High School” or “Your favorite pets name” or “Your best friends name” or “first car” or “mother’s maiden name”.
These security questions are usually not a test to see if you know the name of you pet, or whatever. They are like a second password. And like any password, they should not be easy to for anyone to guess.
We suggest that you make up something that is memorable to you, but is not actually true, and therefore not easily guessed.
- Such as for “your High School”, use something like “lost cause”.
- Or for your pet’s name? Use something like “super pooper”.
- Your best friends name? Use something like “Joe Schmoe”.
- Or for what was your first car? Use something like “a covered wagon”
Get the picture?
Easy enough. Just make it memorable enough so you won’t forget it. Dooh !!!
Oh yes, did we say, don’t forget it! These should be memory items.
